Costas Mavrocordatos has in depth knowledge in corporate governance, international structuring, cross border transactions, risk management, and in the setting up and administration of companies, trusts and other corporate vehicles internationally. He is also an experienced Trust practitioner.
A chartered accountant by profession, he is a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners of the UK (STEP). He also holds a Law degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
He retired from PwC Cyprus at the end of September 2015 as the firm’s Tax and Legal services Leader and member of its Management Board. Other positions held in PwC in his 30 year career during which he became a partner in 1993 included member of the firm’s Executive Board, Leader of International Business, Leader of Global compliance services and responsible for quality and risk management for the whole of Tax and Legal business. Has always been client facing and responsible for a diversified international portfolio of clients including multinational companies, high net worth individuals and private entities.
Before joining PwC he worked for 6 years in London for chartered accountant firms as auditor in a wide variety of assignments including the audit of London local authorities, Lloyd’s syndicates and large and medium sized UK companies.
He served as Chairman of the international business, shipping and foreign investments committee of ICPAC for two consecutive terms.
He continues to offer his services and expertise as presenter at international conferences and contributes to the financial press on international business related issues.
